Supporting people with Mental Health Needs
United Response has been supporting people with mental health needs for 14 years. Our distinctive approach means we work in partnership with people, supporting them to make choices about how they want to live their lives. We work with people to create opportunities and enable them to choose the support they want.
UR supports people with a range of severe mental health needs, including psychosis (a loss of a sense of reality and appropriate social responses), schizophrenia, multiple personality disorder and severe depression.
We provide a variety of mental health services, working in partnership with clinical partners to deliver tailor-made support, based around each individual’s care management plan.
Our emphasis is on recovery, and where possible we focus on early intervention to help prevent more serious problems from occurring.
We try and provide whatever it is a client needs to get better and recover. This means looking at all sorts of different approaches, and being open to new ideas to help people. We are committed to overcoming isolation, supporting our clients to maintain a presence in their local community. And we work hard to build relationships and trust, focusing on demonstrating positive outcomes for people.
Often, we have the greatest involvement in a client’s life, providing the vital link between them and the community mental health team. But the most important support we provide is a non-judgmental listening ear, available whenever people need it. Our ultimate aim is to enable people to move away from psychiatric care and to support them to develop the skills, confidence and links to enable them to lead a full and independent life in the community.
