Connecting

We aim to support people to make local connections — and to be a known and valued member of their local community. Our services challenge the notions of traditional day time support with a range of hugely creative projects across the country. Whatever someone’s ability, we aim to support them to make friends and to do the things they want to do.

People with moderate support needs

We know that people with moderate support needs can gain huge benefits from low level services, including housing related support, employment support and support to access mainstream services and leisure activities, which can make an enormous difference to their ability to lead a full life. These low level services are preventative — we have examples of people who would have fallen out of work, run into debt, developed mental health problems or been drawn into the criminal justice system without our support. New Fair Access to Care criteria mean that many people with mild or moderate support needs are now only eligible for much reduced statutory services, or none at all, and so we are working in partnership with local authorities and local partners to create innovative, cost-effective solutions that enable people to truly connect with the mainstream of community life.
