New set of guides to Making Money Easier

Aimed at people with learning disabilities (although equally useful to anyone who finds themselves lost in banking jargon and small print), these new guides aim to help people to take personal control of their own money.
Making Money Easier includes advice about choosing and using a bank account, a glossary on common banking terms, tips on budgeting and a guide to help people live independently. It's been produced as four separate booklets – Choosing & Opening A Bank Account; Using A Bank Account; Your Money – Your Home and Explaining Some Of The Words Used In Banking.
All the guides are also available online at: www.making-money-easier.info and at: www.unitedresponse.org.uk/your-money-your-home/
Since launching the guides, we've had even more good news – we've now been awarded further funding from the Financial Services Authority (FSA) to produce an additional guide called Moving on and Planning Ahead, to further increase people's independence, and some more funding from the Friends Provident Foundation to produce a picture bank on CD Rom with all the images on it. We're also beginning work on a guide to insurance, funded by HSBC and the Department of Work and Pensions.
