United Response is one of the founders of the Campaign for a Fair Society. This group was formed in late 2010, and consists of people and organisations who had worked for many years alongside disabled people and their families.
The group felt strongly that many of the hard-won achievements of the last 40 years were under threat in these challenging economic times, and that it was vital that we speak out with and on behalf of disabled people.
The campaign will be highlighting unfair cuts to essential services in the immediate term, but – just as importantly – will also set out positive principles for future decision making. We need to set down a marker to ensure that policy decisions enable people with learning disabilities to live a full and meaningful life – now and into the future.
