The government has written a document called 'Valuing People Now'.
United Response says that the the document offers a great opportunity to make things better for people with learning disabilities.

Su Sayer, the chief executive of United Response thinks this is a good document and we are pleased that the government seem to be committed to providing better services for people with learning disabilities.

It is a good idea to give people the support and services they need. This allows people with learning disabilities to have choice and control in their lives.

Su Sayer is pleased the government have said that they want to improve access to health services for people with learning disabilities.

A document called "Valuing People" was written seven years ago. Lots of things have improved for people with learning disabilities since then.

The paper says that there is still a lot to do, such as closing old and broken down hospital departments and supporting more people into paid employment.

The document talks about "making it happen". United Response and other organisations are hoping to work closely with the government to make sure the things talked about in the document really do happen.
