Supported employment services

Many people with learning disabilities want to work but many people with learning disabilities have not worked before.

United Response works with these people to help them make informed choices about their futures.

We work with the people we support to find out what their skills and interests are.

We work to develop the skills people might need. We tailor our training and resources.

We match what people tell us they want to do with real job opportunities.

We help people get used to the new things they will experience in having a job. This could be using transport or getting to work on time.

We support people to do different types of work. This could be paid work, full-time or part-time, work experience, unpaid work, voluntary work or community work.

Some people we support would rather volunteer, or do community work.

We support people to work where they want to. We have supported people to work in garden centres, offices, hotels, restaurants and cafés, charity shops and many other places.
