Barbara's story

At the age of 75, Barbara received her first ever pay packet working for UR Sorted.

Barbara had always wanted to have a job, but she had found it difficult to find paid work before she found out about UR Sorted.

Barbara was offered work experience with UR Sorted after attending an eight week work readiness course co-ordinated by United Response.

Barbara is enthusiastic about her work and she's really grown in confidence since she started work with UR Sorted.

Speaking about her work, Barbara said:

"I really enjoy it.

"I fold magazines, put them in envelopes and then stick the stamps on the front."

Asked how it felt to receive her first ever pay packet, Barbara said:

"It was great. I'm putting my money in the bank and saving it up. I want to keep working at UR Sorted so that I can earn more money."

Barbara has also been involved with the interviewing process to find a new job coach for the Trafford Supported Employment Service.
