Shared Lives is an adult placement team in Liverpool. They match adults with learning disabilities with host individuals and families living in the local area.
The team is looking for people of all ages and backgrounds, who are willing to open up their homes and make a difference to someone else’s life.
Many people with learning disabilities have limited opportunities to meet people and build friendships. By being in a family they become part of a community, where they can develop relationships and grow in confidence.
The Shared Lives team provides full training and pay for all hosts, working with them, and the person they are supporting, to make sure everyone has the help they need. The support is ongoing and changes with the needs of the individual.
