Getting a job

Many young people leaving education want to get that first job and become financially independent. There are many other benefits as well: working can bring increased confidence, new friends, a better social life and a greater sense of self-worth.

However, getting that first job can be difficult, which is why United Response provides specific support in this area. This includes help with completing application forms, using public transport to get to the place of work and on-the-job support.

We also run social enterprises, including a café and a consultancy service. Each offers supportive environments for people to learn new skills and gain valuable experience.
