You can pay it all at once using a cheque or cash.

This is a piece of paper that you can fill in to pay money to people.

Cash

Money that you hold in your hand. It can be notes or coins.

Or you can set up a Direct Debit or a standing order or a to pay some each month.

Direct Debit

This is when money goes straight from your bank account to pay a company. It normally means the same amount each month which the company works out.

Standing order

You can tell your bank to pay someone every month without you needing to ring them. This is called a Standing order.

Or you can go to the council office and pay a bit at a time with cash or a cheque.
