When it comes to a triathlon we understand that not everyone can be Olympic medallists like the Brownlee brothers, but hey - you can sure give it a go!

Why not take on the London Triathlon on 2nd-3rd August and be part of Britain’s fastest growing sport whilst helping to raise valuable funds for people with disabilities and mental health needs.

‘But I haven’t swum, cycled or run in years!’ I hear you cry. Fear not - there's time to prepare! Why not find inspiration in Coz, who is taking part in Prudential RideLondon on behalf of United Response. He’s starting his training from scratch after leaving his bike behind for 15 years. With less than three months to go to his 100 mile finish line Coz says ‘the thought of getting on a bike, training, and taking part in such a momentous occasion took hold of me.’

Paula, a support worker in Richmond, took part in our In the Swim fundraising event having never done a swimming challenge before. She felt ‘utterly amazed, humbled and inspired’ by the whole experience and surpassed her target of 40 lengths. She says if you’re thinking about taking on a challenge ‘Do it! If you think you know who you are and what you are capable of – think again.’

Much like Coz, after some gentle persuasion from his wife, Karl, will be running the Chippenham half marathon for us after not having run long distances since he left the army in 1991. So you see – anything is possible with a bit of training!

Perhaps you’re strong at swimming but not the others; that’s fine too! Find your team of three and take on a discipline each in the team relay. There are two distances to choose from that are both very manageable when split in three, so why not get some friends or colleagues involved and take on the challenge together!

All you need is some team mates like Karl, Coz or Paula, who are willing to give it a go no matter what their experience. With a sponsorship target of just £500 between you, you can’t go wrong!

Individuals can also take part - £50 registration and £500 minimum sponsorship. There is also a shorter distance option for individuals.
