"I didn't even own a bike until this year" Phillipa said: “Training is coming along and I am currently riding up to 30 miles regularly, which may not seem like much but it is increasing steadily.“I take karate lessons in my spare time and have a fitness instructor who has been really supportive in helping me train. I didn’t even own a bike until this year so it will be a new challenge for me but one I am looking forward to."So far, Phillipa has received support from family and friends, and has been following the training plan to help motivate herself ahead of the big day. Raising much-needed funds Despite being a first-time cyclist, Phillipa is confident about the challenge and hopes that a few more riders will join the charity’s team ahead of the 6th May sign-up deadline. She is looking forward to the crowd of supporters cheering on cyclists on the day.Phillipa explained: “Fundraising is an important part of my motivation and will do great things for the charity, and a team of staff members and United Response supporters are also taking part.“I hope that people will give it a go and take on a new challenge, or come and cheer us on to help raise funds for the charity’s important work across the country.” Places still available - sign up today!RideLondon places are still available until Wednesday 6th May and we’re offering a reduced sponsorship target as a special final week offer!
