We’re asking our supporters to hold a 4tea morning to help raise much needed funds. This week, we held a small bake sale in our Wimbledon head office, in honour of our annual fundraiser, and raised £80.

We had a great turnout of homemade treats that we set up in one of our meeting rooms, accompanied by a Disney piano compilation. To make things more interesting we held a competition to find United Response’s star baker. We had some very creative entries including tiffin, cookies, sausage rolls, brownies and lots of other tasty treats.

It was a close call between three entries, and if you’re looking for some inspiration then they are a good place to start (and we've included the recipes):
In third place was Tom’s yummy coffee cake

In second place was John’s sausage rolls. He added mustard inside as a little twist.

And the winner of star baker went to Danielle who whipped up some delicious salted caramel brownies.

If any of these don’t take your fancy then why not keep it simple with some chocolate cornflakes crispies? They’re great fun to make and you can add whatever you like! And if you’re still looking for some tempting recipes to raise those funds then we’d recommend Helen’s chocolate and ginger tiffin. Or even a banana, chocolate and walnut loaf.

You can go as traditional or as extravagant as you like with your 4tea morning. Even if it’s just inviting your friends round for a quick cuppa and a catch up. It really is as simple as it sounds. So why not make a difference with a cuppa in just 4 easy steps:

  1. Pick a date
  2. Invite your friends
  3. Put the kettle on
  4. Ask them to make a donation

And finally, here's the lovely Danielle with her well deserved prize...
