This Sunday, 24 wonderful people are running the London Marathon in aid of United Response. We’d like to wish everyone taking part good luck, and say a massive thank you for the tremendous amount of effort and hard work they have put in.

We have an incredibly inspiring bunch this year.

To name just a few: our trustee Charles, who’s raised almost £6,000; Tom who’s been on a dramatic weight loss journey; and Dan, one of only 32 visually impaired runners this year, who is being guided by Lindsey. And not forgetting Jack who has taken on the marathon after recovering from major surgery. He said: “Having recently recovered from a temporary but serious illness, I have come to realise just how lucky I am and not to take things for granted.

"I am supporting United Response to enable them to bridge the gap between people with and without disabilities so that one day everyone can rightly be treated as equal no matter who they are.”

Why are they running for us?

As ever, there are lots of lovely stories behind our marathon runners this year, you can read more about all of them in our media centre.
