For the last few years, our charity golf day has been held in June, so getting up in the dark and gloomy early hours of the morning in November to prepare was a small shock to the team.

On arrival, we ‘oohed’ and ‘aahed’ at the beautiful surroundings of The Berkshire covered in mist – and then, remembering why we were there, prayed the mist would disappear in time for our golfers.

And it did!

The day itself couldn’t have gone any better, teaming up with national charity Debra, means there’s usually some added competition among the players. Many of whom took part in the on course competitions – an extra chance to win prizes as well as raise money for both charities.

Steve Rider, Vice President for both United Response and Debra was the perfect host for the day, awarding the, now famous, ‘Rider Cup’ to the winning team.

We were incredibly lucky to get some high status prizes donated to the auction, including tickets to the FA Cup Final, afternoon tea at Claridges, a signed Tiger Woods news article and season-long passes for the 2016 British Touring Car Championships.

A huge thank you to everyone who came along on the day – we raised over £18,000 between us!

A special thank you goes out to:
