Staff in North Tyneside have been busily putting preparations in place for a community party to celebrate the 10th anniversary of their service.

The birthday bash will take place on 24th September, 7pm - 11pm at Whitley Bay Rugby Club and has all the key ingredients in place to keep party goers smiling for the whole evening. Entertainment includes a tasty buffet dinner, a live disco, tombola, raffle and some VIP guests!

The dedicated staff team have successfully attracted a mountain of prizes from local businesses which are all up for grabs on the night. Lucky winners could find themselves enjoying complimentary beauty treatments, family days out, bottles of Champagne, a meal in a local restaurant, shopping vouchers and more.

Every penny raised will be spent on improving the lives of the two gentlemen that live in North Tyneside – both men are on the Autistic spectrum, have learning disabilities and are non-verbal. They live in a house adapted to meet their needs and can often be found spending time in their sensory garden which was the outcome of the previous year’s fundraising efforts.

Julia, the mother of one of the people supported in North Tyneside, explains the impact that effective support has made to her son’s life. “Little did I know that for Callum moving into his own home and being supported by United Response was to be such a huge success! 10 years down the line Cal's independence and happiness is always at the forefront of his care. I have lost count of the number of successful moments [during this time] but look forward to the new ones with such a happy heart, knowing that the partnership I have with United Response's staff is so strong that we can all meet any future challenges together.”

If you live in the vicinity make sure you jot the event in your diary. Alternatively if you can’t get to North Tyneside but still wish to support our charity, visit our donation page.
