National disability charity, United Response, is inviting Richmond’s community to ‘Rock Around the Decades’ at its 60s, 70s and 80s-themed party at the Park Hotel in Teddington on Saturday 8th October.

United Response supports people with learning disabilities, physical disabilities and mental health needs to live the lives they choose.

This event aims to raise awareness of the services United Response offers in Richmond and enable people in the community to get involved.

The party will include live music from local band The IMPerfect Covers, who will play hits from across the decades. There will also be a licenced bar and a free buffet. Fancy dress is optional!

The event will take place from 7-11pm and will be open to all over 18s. Tickets cost £10 with all proceeds going towards future projects and events for the people United Response supports.

Jesse Finlay, Activities Co-ordinator for United Response, said:

“It would be great to make more people in the community aware of the services we provide and to get people involved, either through simply attending events, or by helping out and volunteering with our activities.

“We run a number of different activities in Richmond, including a photography and walking club, craft group, art evenings and creative writing. We would love to get more local people with skills or interests in these areas to come along and help out, even just for one off sessions to offer advice on different subject areas. We are moving into a larger office space in Teddington soon and would like to use this as an opportunity to engage with more people in the community.”

The theme for the event was chosen by people supported by United Response and many of them will help to set up, as well as enjoy, the event itself.

Tickets will also be available to buy on the door.
