Disability charity, United Response, is holding a coffee fundraiser in Chesterfield on Saturday 6th May to raise money for people the charity supports in the community.

Everyone is welcome to this event which promises fantastic cakes, buns, muffins, hot and cold drink, alongside great company! It takes place between 10am – 3pm at St Mary’s Centre on Church Street, Pilsley.

The event is free to attend. A range of cakes and drinks will be on offer for a suggested donation of 50p each.

There will also be a ‘Cake Off’ competition, which is open for anyone to take part in for £3 per entry. Bring along your best homemade cake and see how it fairs with our judges. It can be any shape, size or flavour, as long as it is a cake and not a biscuit, bun or muffin.

Other fun activities will include ‘guess the sweets in the jar’, ‘guess the weight of the cake’ and ‘guess the name of the teddy’ for £1 per go each, as well as a raffle.

United Response supports people with learning disabilities, physical disabilities and mental health needs to live as independently as possible within their community.

All proceeds from the day will go towards the people supported by United Response in Chesterfield.

Martin Foster, a United Response support worker who organised the event, said:

“I’m holding this coffee morning to help raise funds for our community garden and sensory equipment, which will make life even fuller for people we support. The event is one of many things I am doing to fundraise, including running the Chesterfield half-marathon in October.”

The full address of the event is: St Mary's Centre, Church Street, Pilsley, Derbyshire S45 8EX.
