Tim Cooper, CEO, United Response,

“At United Response, we were all very saddened to hear of the death of Lord Rix; his tireless campaigning brought about huge change in legislation that directly led to the improvement of the lives of people with learning disabilities. Of particular note were the changes he helped achieve in the 2006 Electoral Administration Bill, leading to people with a learning disability being able to take part in the democratic process by voting.

We extend our deepest condolences to his family. Lord Rix’s passion and commitment to people with learning disabilities will be sadly missed in the House of Lords.”
