A local fundraising champion, Nikki Cowen, is hosting a pub quiz in Welwyn Village on Saturday 25th March, to raise vital funds for disability charity United Response.

The quiz will take place at the Steamer Pub at 7.30pm and will consist of five rounds of different topics, including sport, television and music. It’s £3 per person to enter for teams of up to six people.

The winning team will receive a free round of drinks from the pub.

Alongside the quiz, there will also be a raffle, with fabulous prizes including a sports massage, beauty treatment facials, wine, champagne, candles, chocolates, flowers and more.

Nikki is organising the pub quiz for the third year in a row, following two very successful years of fundraising.

All money raised from the quiz and raffle will go towards United Response’s Gombards Service, a local care home based in Welwyn Village supporting adults with complex needs.

Nikki works for United Response and has been able to see first-hand the difference her fundraising has made to people she supports in the community.

She said:

“Over the past two years, we’ve had fantastic fun and raised an amazing amount of money for the Gombards service. In the past we have used the money to develop the garden which can be enjoyed by people we support and their families.

“Our work has included developing a sensory section of the garden for people with complex needs, which is a wonderful addition to our service. We have lots of exciting ideas for developing the garden further, but it will only be possible with the help of our community!”
