Your support makes a huge difference. With your help, we can ensure that more people with disabilities and mental health needs get to live the meaningful lives they deserve.

Because everyone has different needs, the projects and equipment you help fund can be hugely varied.

Fund our community programme

With your help our community programme has funded over 260 projects so far. The projects help to build relationships between people with disabilities and the wider community. These have included running sign language sessions, setting up a dog-walking business and providing a social lunch for people living alone.

Helping people into employment

Our supported employment programme helps people with disabilities who want to work make informed choices about their future. We do this by finding out their interests and developing their skills through training sessions, before matching them to real job opportunities. For many, it is the first paid jobs they have ever had.

What your donation does

  • £22 could help run a taster sign language session within the local community widening communication for many people we support.
  • £60 could buy a communication aid with buttons that helps the many people we support who are unable to communicate verbally express simple messages.
  • £96 could purchase a portable wheelchair ramp to make accessing places in the community safer and easier.
  • £100 could buy a touch-screen computer with software to help an individual gain independence by organising their appointments, communicating via Makaton symbols and learning new skills.
  • £280 could purchase an epilepsy sensor, which detect seizures by monitoring heart rate and breathing patterns.
  • £500 provides room hire and materials to keep a social club running for 5 months, helping people we support build relationships and increase their confidence.
  • £900 buys a hand-cycle that can be easily fitted to wheelchairs, which boasts benefits including better circulation and muscle strength for the user; everybody should have the opportunity to ride a bike!
