Martyn Lewis CBE
President
During his 32 years as a television journalist, Martyn anchored national news programmes on ITV and the BBC before moving into the world of business in 1999.
In 1997, he was awarded a CBE for services to young people and the hospice movement, and in 2016 he received a knighthood for his exceptional service to a range of voluntary and charitable organisations.
His other charitable responsibilities include:
- chairman of the National Council for Voluntary Organisations (UK organisation representing over 8,000 charities);
- awards committee chair for the Queen’s Award for Voluntary Service (the equivalent of an MBE for groups);
- chairman and founder of YouthNet;
- and vice president of Macmillian Cancer Support, Marie Curie Cancer Care and Help the Hospices.
