Well done to Tim and Gary, our intrepid RideLondon riders who braved the elements on Sunday 29th July to take on a cycling challenge like no other.

Starting in Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, and going onto Surrey’s stunning country roads and through the Surrey Hills before a spectacular finish on The Mall in central London, the 100 mile route Tim and Gary cycled was similar to that of the London 2012 Olympic Road Cycling Races. Tim and Gary took part in the challenge to raise funds for our work supporting young people and adults with a range of disabilities and mental health needs.

We also need to say a huge thank you to our cheering point volunteers in Kingston who didn’t let the weather dampen their spirits and cheered on the cyclists as they passed throughout the day.

As members of our staff team, Senior Support Worker Gary, and Chief Executive Tim, both know first-hand what a difference fundraising makes to the people we support.

“It’s a great opportunity to promote the fantastic work United Response does. Fundraising enables us to make a difference to people’s lives that couldn’t be delivered with statutory funding,” says Tim.

After a couple of days recovering from the aches of cycling 100 miles (almost 161 km) Gary and Tim are now hard at work collecting in their hard-earned sponsorship money. It’s not too late to show them your support by making a donation.
