If you have a disability, we know how difficult it can be to find a home that meets your needs - and that’s why supporting people to find the right housing is such an important part of what we do.

We have a dedicated housing department, whose job it is to ensure our housing services are delivered to the highest possible standard and in line with our values. As well as providing our own housing, we work with a wide range of housing partners, including private landlords, housing associations and charities, to ensure that you have access to the widest range of housing options possible.

Housing & Support Alliance logoWe are a founder member of the Housing and Support Alliance - a national charity and membership organisation working with people with learning disabilities, families, advocacy organisations, housing and support providers, and commissioners.

Housing management and landlord services

We provide housing management and landlord services to a number of people with disabilities. This includes tenants who live in properties that we own and lease; it also includes the people to whom we provide housing management services on behalf of the social landlords we work with.

Our housing management and landlord services include:

  • Rent setting and collection
  • Rent control and arrears management
  • Void management and lettings
  • Tenancy enforcement
  • Repairs and maintenance, where applicable.

Housing brokerage services

Another important element of our housing work is enabling people and their families/advocates to understand the housing options available to them, which option might best meet their needs, and then supporting people to actually find and secure the right housing. We call this our housing brokerage service.

We work with people to gain a detailed understanding of their housing needs and preferences. The assessment involves gathering information about aspirations, wishes and needs, including physical needs, social needs and location. It also involves determining what is 'important to' and 'important for' the applicant, in relation to housing.

We then provide details of the housing options available, as well as our professional recommendation of the most suitable option to meet the identified needs.

Finally, should people want it, once they are clear about the kind of housing required, we offer a property finding service – enabling the person to secure the right housing, in the right location.

Please note: there is a charge for our housing brokerage service. We will provide you with more details when you apply.
