Francesca was on placement at one of our learning hubs, the Boatshed in Totnes, as part of her supported internship.

Part of her role involved speaking to students and managers about the quality of support that ROC College provides. To find out where we needed to improve, Francesca worked with her colleagues on a survey asking students about their lockdown experiences:

As a student myself, I know what I would be happy to share and not share. I think being able to put yourself in their shoes really does help to deliver the best job that you can.

Having been such a key part of this work, Francesca was then offered a paid job by United Response. She now works at the Boatshed as a Stakeholder Engagement Support Worker.
