Our staff and volunteers will lay on a raft of activities, refreshments and events for beach-goers and the public alike to enjoy in the late-July sun, inviting donations to help local disabled people live fulfilled and independent lives.

Representatives will be collecting donations at the top of the 133 steps of Lusty Glaze, which in 2017 was named Britain’s Best Beach by the Sunday Times.

Lusty Glaze Donation Days

The beach has teamed up with a range of great local causes who will each hold their own fundraising day on the beach throughout July and August. Other participating charities include Cornwall Hospice Care, Cornwall Air Ambulance and Children’s Hospice South West.

All of the beach’s regular facilities, including takeaway food and drink, will be open for visitors as usual during the Donation Days events. The events will run until the end of August 2021.

We’re aiming to raise £5,000 on the day, an amount which could deliver six months’ of fitness and dance sessions for people we support, purchase tablet computers for 30 individuals, plus much more.

Speaking about the upcoming event, Regional Fundraiser Suzanne Featherstone said:

We are so grateful to the Lusty Glaze owners and team for the chance to be one of the many local charities benefitting from the Donation Days campaign this summer.

After such a challenging year, our heroic staff continue to go above and beyond to ensure that the people we support are safe, healthy and living the lives that they want to live.

Saturday’s event is a fantastic opportunity for people to soak up some sun, sea and sand at an iconic location, all while raising vital funds to support the incredible work of United Response in the South West.

Tracey Griffiths, owner of Lusty Glaze, said:

In such challenging times our local charities need us more than ever. They rely heavily on public support so it’s important that we all play our part in helping those in need.

Our Donation Days this summer are a chance to enjoy a trip to the beach and support some worthy causes at the same time – come and have a great day out and get involved.

Tickets cost £5 per adult, £3 per child and £10 for families of four.

All proceeds will go to United Response.
