ROC College: Our learning hubs

At ROC College, we believe learning takes place in the community, not just in the classroom.
Our ‘learning hubs’ are educational settings situated across the South West, where students are supported to get the skills, training and qualifications they need to progress further in their chosen fields.

Positively Unique
Positively Unique is an online shop with two high-street outlets in Truro and Paignton. The shop stocks a range of gifts – many of which can be personalised with photos, text and embroidery.
Students studying at Positively Unique are directly involved in the production process, learning how to use the machines to make orders before packaging and posting.
Cornwall

Boscawen Farm, Truro
Boscawen Farm is set on several acres of land in Truro. We run Accredited Learning courses on Mondays and Fridays, taught by staff from Truro and Cornwall College.
At the farm you can learn skills like farming, planting and growing vegetables, cooking, engraving and woodwork.
We have many animals at the farm, including pigs, sheep, goats, guinea pigs, ducks, ferrets, cows and even a bull.
Devon

The Cottage Café, Torquay
The Cottage Café offers hot and cold drinks, cakes and light bites.
Students from ROC College can work at the café as part of a supported internship, developing their skills in catering and customer service whilst learning how to safely prepare food. We also offer barista training at The Cottage Café.
The Boatshed, Totnes
The Boatshed in Totnes is home to our Central Services department. It’s also where we host specialist learning programmes in administration, research and other office-based professions.
The Boatshed is also home to the ROC College Radio Show, hosted by Sam Bastow with features and interviews from some of our other students.

Lower Sharpham Barton Farm, Ashprington
Nestled in amongst the rolling hills in Devon, Lower Sharpham Barton Farm is where students can learn skills in things like horticulture, metalwork, carpentry and animal care.
Community Hubs
We have several other community hubs in towns across the South West, where we offer supported internship and work experience placements at sites in the local area for students who are interested in career paths such as catering, business, retail and more.
