You have until Sunday 13 September 2026* to send us your entry. Scroll down to the bottom of this page for the application form. Please note, funding must be spent by December 31 2026 to be eligible. If you are unable to do this, please apply in January 2027 when the People’s Fund reopens.

Please use this Easy Read and screen reader friendly guide if you would like a differently accessible version of information about The People’s Fund.

United Response experts who have learning disabilities created the People’s Fund because they know how important it is to do things that you are interested in. Our experts also choose the winners and help make sure as many people as possible can use this special chance.

The United Response People’s Fund is kindly paid for by the Clothworkers Foundation and the Kathleen Beryl Sleigh Charitable Trust . They are organisations who support charities to help lots of people.

You can only apply if United Response supports you. You can also get help from someone you trust to apply if you are under 18 or would like their support.

You can only apply once a year, but if you don’t win you can work hard on your application ready for the year after.

Lots of ideas get funding. Our judges love to see ideas that help you to be more independent, feel better in your mind and your body, and to try new things.

If our judges choose you, you could get at least five hundred pounds or even as much as one thousand five hundred pounds. If your idea is very interesting, we might be able to give you even more money than that.

We can’t pay for everything, and there are some important things we will not give money for. Things like your bills, anything illegal, alcohol, or building work on your home.

Key Dates:

Applications open on Monday 7 September 2026.

Applications close on Sunday 13 September 2026*, and we’ll tell you if you have won at the beginning of October 2026. If you win, we will make sure you get the money as soon as possible and we’ll keep in touch to find out what you’ve been up to (we might even share it online with other people).

*Please note: the application process will close early should we reach the maximum number of applications we can accept.

There are lots of ways to apply

You can use an online form or send us a message. If these ways to apply are not best for you, please use the contact details below and we will work with you in a different way. You can also ask someone you trust to help you apply.

To apply please answer:

  • What is your idea and what would you do with the grant money?
  • How will it help you or others?
  • How much money do you need?

If you would like to write down your ideas, you can use the short form at the end of this webpage by clicking the ‘Apply now’ button. You can upload small files like videos and photos too. Try not to close the internet before you have clicked submit because your answers might not be saved.

If you would like to record your ideas you can send us a video or voice recording using the email address or mobile phone number below.

If you would like to send us photos you can send them to us using the email address or mobile phone number below.
