Run the 2027 TCS London Marathon with United Response CEO Kate Terroni

We’re offering a unique opportunity to someone supported by United Response, to take on a challenge like no other, and to do it in partnership with our CEO.
Kate is taking on the London Marathon 2027 for the first time and wants to offer a space for someone to run alongside her; to share in the training journey and the day of the marathon itself.
Who can apply?
This opportunity is open to anyone supported by United Response. You can live anywhere in the country; you just need to have the drive and determination to take on the London Marathon and the training.
What do I need to do?
To begin, you need to fill in the application form, which you can find by scrolling to the bottom of this page. Applications will be open for the whole of July and then closed so they can be assessed, and the result will be announced during the first week of August. Further information, including a training plan and terms and conditions will be shared with the winning applicant.
Do I need to be really fit?
You should be in good physical health and ideally be active and confident to do plenty of running both in training and for the marathon. The event is 26.2 miles, and it takes at least three months of regular training to get your body and mind ready for the challenge. If you feel up for it, you should apply.
Do I have to raise money?
All our Marathon runners agree to raising a target of £2,200 for the event. Our fundraising team will support you with this, including ideas to help encourage your community to support your effort.
Will I get to meet Kate?
Of course! You will share your training journey with Kate, and this will include calls and even face to face meetups during the build-up and of course some practise runs. And you will share the Marathon Day together.
What else do I need to know?
Part of this opportunity will include sharing regular update with our communications team, so we can share your story on our social media and website platforms. The team will support you with this, but you must be comfortable with sharing photos, videos and thoughts with us.
We recognise that there will be a cost to taking part, which could be buying running trainers/clothing or other associated training costs. We will support your efforts with a grant to help with these costs and get you up and running.
