Alison’s Love of Arts and Crafts

Alison, one of the people we support here in Cornwall, loves to do arts and crafts. She is always busy working on fantastic decorations or presents. Alison spends a lot of time doing arts and crafts with one of her support workers Claire, who Alison calls Cheesy.

Alison making decorations

Whenever there is a holiday or celebration approaching Alison makes fantastic decorations for the occasion. This has included decorations for the 50th birthday celebration of United Response, with the decorations made at the craft club. For Halloween Alison went all out and made incredible decorations for her home and garden, to the enjoyment of all the trick or treaters.

Every Christmas Alison makes the staff at our Callington office gifts. The weeks and months leading up to Christmas is a busy time filled with glitter and glue.

Alison and Cheesy’s Cornwall Craft Club

Alison’s talent and passion for arts and crafts is the reason the Cornwall Craft Club exists. Claire suggested that Alison run an art club at the Callington office because it would be a great opportunity to share her passion and skills with others. Not surprisingly Alison loved the idea and the craft club is a big success.

The craft club meet at our Callington office every fortnight.

Following on from the success of the Christmas themed decorations and presents the craft club started working on a Valentines Day project.

The Craft Club Working On Valentines Day Crafts

The craft club is undeniably a success and we hope it will continue for a long time and continue to be a popular activity in East Cornwall. Obviously we are all very excited to see what Alison and the members of the craft club create for Easter and can’t wait to share that with you all.
